Save places to build a route

You order one crab. What arrives is a full table. That is how this place works, and it changes how you should think about the price.

Order snow crab or king crab and the course runs:

  • Juk — rice porridge, to start
  • Salad
  • Mushroom sweet-and-sour (a vegetarian take on tangsuyuk)
  • Corn cheese — sweet corn baked under melted cheese. A Korean bar-food staple
  • Sashimi
  • Fried prawns
  • Grilled abalone
  • Then the crab

The side dishes that come with the crab — sashimi, fried prawn, seasoned fish

The table keeps filling while the crab is being steamed. You are not paying for a crab and nothing else — that's the point worth understanding before you look at the price.

What it looks like

A large white plate is piled with steamed crab legs, claws and bodies split in half. The claws are a vivid orange studded with white bumps, and in the middle a body shows its meat with a pale-green seasoning on it. Bits of other dishes show around the edges.

Menu words

  • Daege is a Korean snow-crab type with long legs and sweet meat, usually eaten steamed
  • The claw is the crab's big front pincer, where the meat is full
  • The gettakji (crab shell) is the body shell, and the innards inside are sometimes mixed into rice

How much crab to order

Hard to judge from a menu, so here's the benchmark.

For two people, 1.5–2kg of snow crab is plenty. Because so much else arrives, you don't need to scale the crab up. That amount leaves two people full and having eaten a lot of different things.

On price — there's a promotion right now

As of 2026 the restaurant is running a 20th-anniversary promotion.

  • Snow crab — ₩79,000 per kg
  • King crab — ₩119,000 per kg

They are currently offering the crab course "at ten-year-ago prices" (as of Aug 2026).

Check before you go that it's still running. Promotions end.

Outside the promotion, it is not cheap. Crab is an expensive ingredient anywhere; this was never a cheap restaurant.

But the table as served feels like being looked after. So, plainly: this is not a place to eat cheaply. It's a place to spend money and be treated well.

Private rooms

There are several private rooms, which is the practical reason to pick this place for an occasion.

It works equally well for family, for hosting someone, or for two. Being able to avoid a noisy table in the middle of Hongdae is genuinely useful — this is one of Seoul's loudest nightlife districts.

Finding it, and other practical notes

Know the building before you arrive. The ground floor holds the live tanks. Dining is on the 3rd floor — take the lift. People do walk in, see only tanks, and assume they're in the wrong place.

  • Hongik Univ. Station is close. The Airport Railroad stops there, so you can come straight from Incheon Airport
  • Parking is tight — take the subway
  • Reservations go through Naver. Book ahead if you want a room
  • Closes at 10:00 PM
  • Not spicy — the crab and most of the course carry no chilli heat

Right for this kind of occasion

  • ✅ You want crab served as a full course, not just a boiled crab
  • ✅ You need a quiet private room for an occasion
  • ✅ You're hosting someone and want the table to look after them
  • ✅ You can't eat spicy food
  • ✅ You want somewhere to unwind in Hongdae before or after — Roofcatme Cat Cafe, Hongdae is within walking distance of the station
  • ⚠️ Not a cheap meal — even at promotion prices, budget ₩50,000–80,000 per person
  • ⚠️ Parking is difficult, and dining is up on the 3rd floor
Written from a personal visit. The promotion won't run forever, and regular prices and hours shift too, so confirm again before booking. Prices and hours are (as of Aug 2026).
