Roofcatme Cat Cafe, HongdaeRight by Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9, a Break with the Cats
## A cat cafe I wandered into

I like animals. I haven't kept a pet since I was a child, but I ended up stopping by this place. The fact that it's the "Hongdae branch" suggests there are others.
At a cat cafe you order a drink and stay in the space with the cats. The cats here were used to being around people.

It's close to Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9, and there were plenty of foreign visitors when I went. If you like cats, it's a good place to sit and rest for a bit while you're going around Hongdae.
What it looks like
Through a wooden window frame with peeling blue paint, a cream-colored cat with folded ears lies on a grey carpet. It wears a bow tie with a green cord and a yellow collar, with its front paws neatly together, looking straight ahead. On the wall behind are a "B2" floor marker and a green emergency exit sign, which shows in the photo that the cafe is on the second basement level.
For foreign visitors
- At a cat cafe, the usual model is that you pay admission (or a mandatory one drink) and stay for a set amount of time. Check the exact fee and limit on arrival.
- The basic etiquette is not to force-hold or wake the cats. Let them sniff your hand before you touch.
- Many places have you sanitise your hands on the way in. Follow the staff's instructions.
- A short walk from Hongik Univ. Station Exit 9. It's on a basement floor.
