Cheonghae GimbapEgg-Wrapped Gimbap Is the Signature, at a Solid Neighbourhood Snack Bar
I had something to do in Incheon and stopped here for a quick meal because it's a snack bar people around here say is well known.

Egg-wrapped gimbap is the signature
Once I sat down and looked around, nearly every table had one order of egg-wrapped gimbap on it. Treat that as the house dish.
Two of us ordered janchi-guksu and the egg-wrapped gimbap — that's what's in the photo.
- Egg-wrapped gimbap (gyeranmari-gimbap) — a gimbap roll wrapped once more in a thin fried-egg sheet. The filling inside is ordinary snack-bar gimbap
- Janchi-guksu — thin wheat noodles in a mild anchovy broth, topped with fried tofu, fish cake, seaweed and spring onion. Not spicy
It wasn't bad. The egg-wrapped gimbap was warm and soft, and the janchi-guksu was fine. It was more than enough for a filling meal.
But I'm not sure the "well known nearby" reputation justifies a special trip. It's a decent neighbourhood snack bar, not somewhere to bend your itinerary for.
What it looks like
In a stainless-steel bowl, thin wheat noodles sit in a clear broth, topped with a generous heap of shredded seaweed, sliced green onion and flat pieces of fish cake. On the plate beside it is the egg-wrapped gimbap, sliced, with the gimbap rolled in a thin egg and pan-fried until golden. A separate bowl of soup sits to one side.
What foreign visitors should know
- Neither dish is spicy. Janchi-guksu is a mild anchovy noodle soup, and the egg-wrapped gimbap has no heat. A safe combination if you can't eat spicy.
- Egg-wrapped gimbap is a gimbap roll sheathed in a fried-egg layer — unfamiliar at first sight, but an easy, mild taste.
- Being a bunsik (snack bar), it's fast and cheap. Good for a light meal.
- ✅ Good if you have business in Incheon and want a light meal nearby, want to fill up on something not spicy, or are curious about egg-wrapped gimbap
- ⚠️ Less good if you're expecting a "local famous restaurant" and would go out of your way for it — it isn't quite that
Before you go
- Getting there — 414 Gyeongin-ro, Michuhol-gu, Incheon. Check it on the map before you go.
- Hours · prices · closing day — open 24 hours, every day; egg-wrapped gimbap runs around 6,000 KRW (as of Aug 2026). Still worth a quick check before you go.
- Ordering — most people get one egg-wrapped gimbap each. Add janchi-guksu if you want something with broth.
- More of Incheon — if you're heading out to Yeongjong Island, Paradise City Cimer fits into the same Incheon trip.
