The Best of Myeongdong — My Picks From What I've Reviewed
Seoul · Myeongdong
Myeongdong is a shopping district that's always busy with tourists, but the side streets still hold old-school restaurants and quiet cafes. Everything here is within walking distance, so it's easy to fold into a single day. Here's a pick from what I've reviewed, in an order that's easy to slot into a sightseeing route.
For a route: start lunch with kalguksu at Myeongdong Gyoja, take an afternoon breather at Tailor Coffee, then wind down in the evening with okonomiyaki at Tsuruhashi Fugetsu or mild namul bibimbap at Mokmyeoksanbang, at the foot of Namsan.
Most of these are either 10,000-KRW-range old-school spots or light meals around 15,000 KRW, so it's easy to work one in between shopping stops without much of a dent in the budget.
